Mrs. Donna Dee Ray
Music Teacher

Music teacher, Donna Dee Ray, received both her B.A. and M.Ed. at the University of Central Florida. She also received twelve years of formal musical instruction from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Donna won the United States Virtuoso Accordion Championship at the 1964 New York World's Fair. That same year she was assistant head cheerleader for the Kansas City Chiefs football team. The subsequent year she began a five-year stint touring with Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians as an orchestra member. There she met her husband, Dennis, a singer with the group. They performed musically as a duo for many years and with their three children who are now grown.

The Ray children attended Tomoka Elementary. The Ray Family performed for conventions, theme parks, and community events. Mrs. Ray has been teaching for seventeen years having come to Tomoka in 1999. In addition to her classroom teaching duties, she directs the Chime Choir and Orff Ensemble.
